Rams TV game survival check list.
1. Beer. Estimate how much you are going to drink then buy double that amount just in case. 2. Fags. Looks like I picked a bad week to stop smoking/sniffing glue/taking angel dust. 3. Wrap the remote control in bubble wrap then put it in the airing cupboard. 4. Take wife's china collection to neighbours for safe keeping. 5. Clear room of any other throwable objects. 6. Write large sign saying 'Do not smash the TV' 7. Place a large difficult to throw object like a table between you and the TV. 8. Put the sign on it. 9. 3 hours before kick off say to wife/significant other 'If you've anything to say tonight, say it now then don't trouble me again' 10. Get some religion.
That is as close as I'm going to get to analysing our 4 previous televised meetings with the Rams.
10 Things I don't like about the Seahawks chances
1. The Rams HAVE to win, we don't. 2. More than 6 weeks after Darrell Jackson's '4-6 week' injury there's still no news on his return. 3. Seahawks Special Teams penalties will probably be enough to give the Rams 50 unearned yards. 4. The Rams beat the Jaguars. The Seahawks lost to the Jaguars. We were on the road but it's 1 up for them 5. QB Mark Bulger looks like being fit for the Rams. I'd have preferred Jamie Martin to be starting. 6. The 4 game live UK TV losing streak - see above. 7. Marcus Tubbs is questionable to play which at the very least will disrupt some nice things we've been doing on the D Line rotation. 8. Rams RB Steven 'Action' Jackson. He can play, but I really don't like his cocky style. I'd hate him to have a big game. 9. Rams WR Tory 'Big Mouth' Holt. He can play, but I really don't like his cocky style. I'd hate him to have a big game. 10. Mike Martz or the lack of him. I think Joe Vitt will call a better game for the Rams.
10 Things I do like about the Seahawks chances
1. Shaun Alexander. The Rams can't stop him, it's a question of how many TD's he will score and how many yards over 100 he will go. 2. Mark Bulger has been sacked 20 times in 5.5 games making him one of the most sacked QB's in the NFL this season. 3. Rams rookie tackle Alex Barron is dumb. In his last game he committed countless penalties including one where he caught the ball! 4. The Seahawks lead the NFL in sacks with 27. The team leader is Bryce Fisher with 7. He'll be playing against Alex Barron. 5. Marquand Manuel. The Seahawks safety has made 20 tackles in 2 games since he came in to replace Ken Hamlin. 6. Home field advantage. Whatever happened in the past the Seahawks are very good at Qwest Field. 7. The Rams defense are ranked 30th, giving up 367 yards per game. Expect the NFL's No 1 offense to add to that total. 8. Matt Hasselbeck. Very quietly he has been as good as or better than any QB in the NFL this season. 9. The Seahawks have started making interceptions and Bulger likes throwing them. Expect one returned for a TD. 10. We have the Rams monkey off our back. If we can beat them on the road we can beat them in Seattle.
Expect the list of things I'm glad I mentioned/wish I hadn't said in this space Monday but at least I don't expect to break into my neighbours house gone midnight and start smashing up my wife's china in celebration/anguish.
